WaterGuard GOLD

Application Rates and Method

Application Rate

In most cases, an application rate of 1.5 litres per 1,000 sq metres of water surface area (15 litres per hectare) will be sufficient to reduce evaporation by at least 50%. In exceptionally harsh environments, a higher rate up to 3.0 litres per 1,000 sq metres (30 litres per hectare) will be beneficial.

Re-apply every 3 weeks in hot months.

We recommend that WaterGuard GOLD is applied on the upwind side of the dam to assist with spreading. It will still cover the surface if applied against the wind, but at a slower rate.

Application Methods

WaterGuard GOLD can be applied by simply pouring it directly from the drum on to the water. It will spread rapidly across the surface.

For larger water storages, WaterGuard GOLD can be applied from a boat. For storages larger than 20 hectares, aerial application is recommended.

If the product is applied at a single location, there may be an initial white ‘blob’ at the application point. Although this may suggest that the product isn’t spreading, the front edges will be expanding and the blob will gradually disappear.
